An Orchid
This painting by American artist Georgia O’Keeffe was originally created in 1941. Georgia was known for her enlarged paintings of flowers, New York sky- scrapers and New Mexico landscapes and has been called “The Mother of American Modernism”. I was drawn to the beautiful color combination of white and green. I was also drawn to the feeling of fluidity, femininity, movement and drama in such a simple composition of this orchid.
